www.facebook.com/100064862405398/posts/379690054203072/The campaign to prevent speeding drivers endangering other road users has continued in the rural areas of #Maidstone.On Friday 13 May 2022, some of our officers from the town’s Community Safety Unit completed checks on motorists in Dean Street and Lower Road, #EastFarleigh.A total of 16 drivers were stopped due to their speed and all received fixed penalty notices for exceeding the 30mph limit.Inspector Steve Kent, of Maidstone’s Community Safety Unit, said: 'We completed these checks following complaints from residents that pedestrians and others using the local roads, were being endangered by speeding vehicles.'The intention is to remind drivers they have a responsibility to drive within the statutory speed limit and in a roadworthy vehicle.‘Our officers will repeat this enforcement and those who continue to put others at risk are likely to receive a fixed penalty notice or have to appear at court.’ ...
